Luminous
Objects : The objects which are themselves source of light
(i.e. which emit light) are called luminous objects. e.g.
sun, electric bulb, burning candle etc. |
|
Luminous
Flux : A source of light such as a lamp emits a continuous
stream of luminous energy (i.e. visible light). We give the
name luminous flux to the luminous energy emitted per second
by the light source. It is donated by ф. |

Line
spectra : The emission spectra which consist of series
of separate lines are known as line spectra .e.g. sodium discharge
lamp, mercury vapor lamp, neon discharge tube etc emit line
spectra i.e. they emit light of definite wavelengths. |
|
Liquid
Crystal : The organic solid which on heating becomes fluid
like but retains anisotropic prosperities is called a liquid
crystal. |
|
Logical
Gates : A digital circuit
which one or more input signals but only one output signal
is called logical gates.
