Frictional
Electricity : The charges at rest can be produced due
to friction between two insulating bodies which are rubbed
against each other. The electricity so developed is called
frictional electricity. |
|
Ferromagnetic
substances : Those substances which placed in a magnetic
field are strongly magnetized in the direction of the applied
field are called ferromagnetic substances. e.g. iron, nickel
, cobalt etc. |
|
Flux
Linkages : The product of number of turns (N) of the
coil and the flux (ф) linking the coil is called flux
linkages. i.e. Flux Linkages = N ф. |
|
Fraunhoffer
Lines : A number of dark lines observed in the otherwise
continuous spectrum of the sun are called fraunhoffer lines.
|
|
Forbidden
Energy Gap : The separation between conduction band and
valence band on the energy level diagram is known as forbidden
energy gap. |
|
Forward
Biasing : When external voltage applied to the junction
is in such a direction that it cancles the potential barrier,
thus permiting current flow, it is called forwarf biasing.

Frequency
Modulation (FM) : When the frequency of carrier wave is
changed in accordance with the intensity of the signal, it
is called frequency modulation. |
